From downtown Temecula, you can take the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) bus route 79. Board the bus at the Temecula Transit Center, located at 41000 Main St, Temecula, CA 92590. Ensure you check the RTA schedule for the latest bus times. Ride the bus towards San Clemente for approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the San Clemente Metrolink Station, transfer to the 'OCTA Route 1' bus heading south. Get off at the stop closest to Old Pacific Highway and walk about 10 minutes to San Onofre State Beach.
