Driving
From Los Angeles, take the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) west. The drive is approximately 30 miles and can take 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. Parking options vary depending on the beach or attraction. Metered parking is available at Zuma Beach. Be aware of overnight parking restrictions on PCH. Expect to pay between $3 and $12 for parking at Malibu Lagoon State Beach.
Public Transport
The Metro Express 534 bus connects downtown Santa Monica to Malibu, with stops along the PCH. The fare is $1.75 each way. Download the TAP app for easy fare payment. From Los Angeles, take the Metro E Line to Santa Monica and transfer to the 534 bus. This journey takes approximately 2 hours.
Ride-Sharing
Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Malibu. Expect to pay around $61 for the 23-mile trip, which can take about 48 minutes. Note that at LAX, you'll need to take a free shuttle to the LAX-it pickup zone to meet your ride.
