Discover more about Pasadena Memorial Park

Pasadena Memorial Park, originally named Library Park, is one of Pasadena's oldest parks, established in the 1880s. This five-acre triangular green space offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Bordered by a railroad to the east and Raymond Avenue to the west, the park provides a peaceful retreat from the urban environment. The park's history is rich. Pasadena's first public library, a Romanesque stone building, was built here in 1890, largely funded by public subscription. Although the library was demolished in 1954 after earthquake damage, the original entrance arch still stands as a memorial to Pasadena's pioneers. In 1930, an Art Deco bandshell was added, now known as the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena, hosting concerts and activities after a 2002 renovation. The park also features memorials, including a Civil War monument dedicated in 1906. The landscape showcases a variety of trees and flowering shrubs, with paths winding through open lawns. Today, Memorial Park is a vibrant community hub, hosting events and offering amenities such as playgrounds, picnic areas, and free Wi-Fi. It's conveniently located near the Metro A Line, making it easily accessible for visitors and locals alike. The park is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, providing a welcoming space for relaxation, recreation, and community engagement.
