Public Transit
From Walnut Creek BART station, take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Travel for about 20 minutes and disembark at the Embarcadero station. Transfer to the Golden Gate Transit bus number 4 at the bus terminal. The bus will take you directly to Mill Valley. Get off at the 'Mill Valley - Panoramic Hwy' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Mount Tamalpais State Park.

If you are near downtown Walnut Creek, head towards the Walnut Creek BART station located at 200 Ygnacio Valley Rd. Once there, follow the above instructions to take public transit to reach Mount Tamalpais State Park.

Bicycle
Bike from Walnut Creek along the Iron Horse Trail towards Pleasant Hill. Continue to follow the trail until you reach the junction with the Contra Costa Canal Trail. Follow the Canal Trail north until you can connect to the Marin County bike routes. Follow these routes towards Mill Valley. Note that the ride is approximately 15 miles, and some parts are hilly, so be prepared for a challenging ride.
