Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Oddar Meanchey, heading northwest on Route 68 towards the Thai border. Drive for approximately 1.5 hours (about 70 km). You will cross the border into Thailand at the Choam/Sangkhla Buri border checkpoint. Continue on the same road (Route 24) for about 30 km until you reach a junction. Take a left onto Route 348 and follow the signs for Banteay Ampil. Prasat Ta Krabey is located near Bak Dai, which is approximately 15 km from the junction.

Public Transportation

To use public transportation, catch a bus or shared taxi from Oddar Meanchey to the nearest town near the border, such as Anlong Veng. This ride will take about 1 hour. From Anlong Veng, find a shared taxi heading to the border. After crossing into Thailand, take a local bus or taxi to Banteay Ampil. The total travel time may vary but expect around 3-4 hours, depending on wait times. Be prepared to pay for multiple transport fees: bus fare from Oddar Meanchey to Anlong Veng (around $2), shared taxi to the border (around $3), and bus or taxi from the border to Banteay Ampil (around $5).
