Getting There

Car

From Siem Reap, the journey to Prasat Preah Vihear is approximately 3 hours by car. Head north on Road 67, then turn right at Anlong Veng. Continue towards Sra'em, the closest town to the temple. From Sra'em, proceed to the ticket office at the foot of the mountain. Note: A private car from Siem Reap can cost between $100-$200.
Public Transport

From Siem Reap, take a bus or minivan to Preah Vihear City (approximately $7 USD). Then, hire a taxi or moto-taxi to Sra'em. From Sra'em, you'll need to arrange transport to the Prasat Preah Vihear ticket office. Note: Bus/van services depart frequently from Siem Reap.
Local Transport

Once at the Prasat Preah Vihear ticket office, you have a few options to reach the temple at the mountain top. You can hire a moto-taxi for around $5 USD or a 4WD truck for $25 USD (can accommodate up to six passengers) for a round trip. Walking is also an option, taking approximately two hours via the recently repaired staircase. Note: Private vehicles are not allowed to carry tourists from the ticket booth to the temple.
