Travel Guide to Katieng Waterfall

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Ban Lung, the capital of Ratanakiri Province, head north on National Road 78. Continue for about 10 km until you reach the junction near the 4 Rivers Resort. Turn left onto the road that leads to Katieng Waterfall, which is approximately 3 km from the junction. The road may be unpaved, so drive carefully. Follow the signs to the waterfall, and you’ll find a parking area nearby. Note that there might be a small parking fee.

• Public Transportation (Tuk-Tuk)

  From Ban Lung, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Katieng Waterfall. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost around $10 to $15 for a round trip. The tuk-tuk driver will take you to the waterfall entrance, approximately 13 km from the city center. Ensure that the driver agrees to wait for you while you explore the area, as it may take some time. Remember to bring cash for any entrance fees if applicable.

• Motorbike Rental

  For those looking for an adventurous ride, consider renting a motorbike in Ban Lung. You can find rental shops offering bikes for about $5 to $10 per day. Head north on National Road 78 and follow the same route as described for driving. Once you reach the junction near the 4 Rivers Resort, turn left and continue for another 3 km to the waterfall. Be cautious of the road conditions and wear a helmet for safety.
