Founded in 1993 as a collaboration between the Cameroonian government and the Pandrillus Foundation, the LWC provides a sanctuary for orphaned, injured, and abused animals. Unlike a traditional zoo, the LWC focuses on rehabilitating animals with the goal of releasing them back into the wild whenever possible.The center is home to a diverse range of species, with a particular focus on primates. Visitors can observe gorillas, chimpanzees, drills, mandrills, baboons, and various monkey species living in enriched environments.
