Bota Island: A Tropical Paradise in Limbe

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Yaoundé, head southwest on the N3 road towards Douala. This journey will take approximately 3-4 hours. Once you reach Douala, follow the signs towards Limbe on the N5 road. After entering Limbe, navigate towards the coastal area until you reach 25CW+X5P Bota Island. Parking may be available nearby, but ensure to check local regulations.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  Start by taking a bus from Yaoundé to Douala. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station, and the trip usually lasts about 4-5 hours. Once in Douala, transfer to a bus heading to Limbe. The Limbe buses are located at the Douala bus terminal. The Limbe trip takes about 1-2 hours. Upon arrival in Limbe, you can take a taxi or walk to Bota Island, which is located at 25CW+X5P. Expect to pay a small fee for the taxi service.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Yaoundé to take you to Bota Island. This option is more expensive than the bus but offers convenience and a faster trip. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which can range from 50,000 to 100,000 CFA depending on your starting point and negotiation skills.

• Boat (from Limbe)

  Once you are in Limbe, if you want to explore the area around Bota Island, you can take a small boat from the Limbe port. The boat ride will take around 20-30 minutes and usually costs about 5,000 CFA per person. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as boat services may vary.
