If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Bertoua, the capital of East Region. Head southwest on the N3 road towards Yaoundé. After approximately 300 km, take the exit towards Limbe. Continue on the N2 road until you reach Limbe. Once in Limbe, follow the coastal road towards Bota Island. You will need to navigate to the coordinates 4.0224656, 9.1954432 using a GPS or a map application. There's no parking directly on the island, so park your car at a nearby dock.

To reach Bota Island via public transportation, take a bus from Bertoua to Limbe. The bus ride will take around 6-8 hours. Once you arrive in Limbe, take a motorcycle taxi (commonly known as 'benskin') to the coastal dock where boats to Bota Island are available. The fare for the motorcycle taxi is approximately 1,000 FCFA. From the dock, you can catch a boat to the island which typically costs about 2,000 FCFA per person. The boat ride will take around 15-20 minutes.
