Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Bertoua, the capital of the East Region. Take the N10 highway heading east towards Ngoura. After approximately 68 kilometers, you will reach Ngoura. Continue on the N10 for about 18 kilometers until you see the sign for Deng Deng National Park. Turn left onto a smaller road that leads directly to the park entrance, which is approximately 9 kilometers down this road. Be prepared for some rough patches on the road, especially in the rainy season.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Deng Deng National Park via public transportation, first take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Bertoua to Ngoura. The fare is approximately 300-500 CFA francs. Once you reach Ngoura, you will need to find another taxi-brousse that heads towards Lensi. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for Deng Deng National Park. The fare for this leg of the journey will be around 200-300 CFA francs. After getting off, you’ll need to walk about 9 kilometers to the park entrance, or you can try to negotiate a ride with local motorbike taxis (benskin) for about 1000 CFA francs.
