Pavillon Vert: A Verdant Oasis in Maroua

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Maroua town center (like the Grand Marché), head north on Avenue de la Réunification. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo. Turn left onto Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo and walk straight for about 500 meters. You will see a large roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rue de l'Indépendance. Continue on this road for about 600 meters. Pavillon Vert should be on your left, marked by its green gardens.

• Bicycle

  From the central area of Maroua, rent a bicycle and head north on Avenue de la Réunification. Keep an eye out for local traffic and pedestrians as you cycle. After approximately 1 kilometer, turn left onto Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo. Cycle straight for about 500 meters to reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Rue de l'Indépendance and continue cycling for about 600 meters. Pavillon Vert will be on your left, easily recognizable by its lush greenery.

• Public Transport (Shared Taxi)

  To reach Pavillon Vert via a shared taxi, find a taxi heading towards the Maroua town center. Ask the driver to drop you off near the Grand Marché. From there, you can either walk to Pavillon Vert or catch another taxi heading towards Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo. If you choose to walk, head north on Avenue de la Réunification for about 1 kilometer, then turn left onto Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo, and follow the instructions as mentioned above. If taking another taxi, inform the driver to drop you off at the roundabout on Avenue Ahmadou Ahidjo, then proceed to walk on Rue de l'Indépendance for about 600 meters to reach your destination.
