Walking
From the central market of Ngaoundéré (Marché Central), head east on Avenue de la République. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Boulevard de l'Indépendance. Walk for approximately 2 kilometers until you see a sign for Lac Piou on your left. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the lake.
Bicycle
Start at the main bus station in Ngaoundéré. Rent a bicycle and head north on Rue de la Liberté. After 1 kilometer, take a left onto Avenue de la République. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers, and then turn right onto Boulevard de l'Indépendance. Follow this road for 2.5 kilometers until you see the sign for Lac Piou. Cycle down this road for approximately 1 kilometer to reach the lake.
Motorbike Taxi
Find a motorbike taxi (known as 'benskin') at any busy intersection in Ngaoundéré, such as near the Marché Central. Inform the driver that you want to go to Lac Piou. The driver will take you along Avenue de la République, then Boulevard de l'Indépendance. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
