    Another option from Nkongsamba is to hire a motorbike taxi (benskin). This is a cheaper alternative, costing around 5,000 XAF. The name Ekom Nkam comes from the village where the falls are located (Ekom) and the river from which they originate (Nkam).The waterfalls are comprised of two main falls: a 'male' fall fed continuously by the Nkam River and a 'female' fall fed by the Oham River, which flows strongest during the rainy season. The surrounding area teems with diverse flora and fauna, including chimpanzees, monkeys, and various bird species, making it a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
