Car
If you are driving from Halifax, take the NS-102 N highway from downtown. Follow signs for Bedford/Halifax. Continue on NS-102 N for about 15 minutes. Take exit 2B for NS-118 N towards the Dartmouth Bridge. Merge onto NS-118 N and follow it for approximately 10 minutes. Take exit 1 toward NS-7 S, and merge onto NS-7 S. After about 10 minutes, take the exit for NS-111 S and then merge onto NS-111 S. Follow this road until you see signs for Black Rock Beach. The beach is located in the South End of Halifax, and there is parking available nearby. Make sure to check for any parking fees or restrictions when you arrive.
Public Transportation
To reach Black Rock Beach using public transportation, start at the Halifax Transit Terminal. Take the number 14 bus heading to 'Dartmouth'. You will need to transfer to the number 61 bus towards 'Halifax' at the Bridge Terminal. Ride for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop for Black Rock Beach. The beach is a short walk from the bus stop. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as service may vary, especially on weekends or holidays.
Walking
If you are staying in the South End of Halifax, you can easily walk to Black Rock Beach. Start from the Halifax waterfront and head towards the South End, following the scenic coastal paths. It should take you about 20-30 minutes to reach the beach on foot, providing beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially on sunny days.
