To reach Hunt Lake from Winnipeg, travel east on the TransCanada Highway (Highway 1) towards Ontario. Take the West Hawk Lake turnoff. Turn right at the stop sign onto Highway 44. Continue on Highway 44 until you see the trailhead sign for Hunt Lake. A Manitoba Parks pass is required for your vehicle. Parking is available at the Border Reception Centre parking lot, which serves as the trailhead. There are no parking fees.

The Hunt Lake Trail begins at the Border Reception Centre parking lot. From the parking lot, the trailhead is clearly marked. Follow the signs for the Hunt Lake Trail. The trail is an out-and-back route, so simply follow the path until you reach the end at Little Indian Bay, and then return along the same route.
