Baldwin is named after Harold Ferrin Baldwin, whose family's history is intertwined with the village of Baldwin's Mills and The Pinnacle. Harold believed in sharing the natural beauty of his land and wished for The Pinnacle to become a public park. In 1998, his son Keith helped to make that dream a reality by donating the 200-acre Pinnacle property to the Town of Barnston (now part of Coaticook) for conservation, recreation, and education. The park's primary mission is to ensure the conservation and sustainability of its rich ecosystem.
