Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the North End of Halifax, head south toward Barrington Street. You can take any of the side streets leading to Barrington, such as Isleville Street or Almon Street. As you walk down, look for signs directing you to the downtown area. Once you reach Barrington Street, turn left and walk along it. Continue walking south for approximately 15-20 minutes until you reach the Grand Parade located at 1770 Barrington St. You'll see a large open space with historical buildings around it, making it easy to spot.

• Public Transit (Bus)

  For a quicker option, you can take public transit. Look for the nearest Metro Transit bus stop in the North End, which may be located along Agricola Street or Gottingen Street. Check the schedule for buses heading to downtown Halifax. Buses that operate on routes 1 or 7 will take you toward the downtown area. The fare is approximately $3.50 CAD, and you can pay with cash or a prepaid Metro Transit pass. After about 10-15 minutes of travel, get off at the Grand Parade stop or the nearest stop on Barrington Street, then walk a short distance to reach Grand Parade at 1770 Barrington St.

• Cycling

  If you're comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program. Head south from the North End toward Barrington Street, using bike lanes where available. The ride to Grand Parade should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace. Once you arrive, there are bike racks available near the Grand Parade to secure your bike.
