Getting There

• Public Transit (Bus)

  From South End Halifax, make your way to the nearest bus stop at 'South Park St. Before Spring Garden Rd'. Take the Metro Transit #14 bus towards 'Dartmouth Bridge'. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the 'Dartmouth Bridge' stop. Here, transfer to the #1 bus heading towards 'Woodside'. Ride this bus for around 25 minutes and get off at the 'Windsor St. @ University Ave.' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes to Fort Halifax State Historic Site, which is located at US-201, Winslow, ME 04901, United States. • Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in South End Halifax. Start your ride along the waterfront and head towards the Macdonald Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the bike path leading to Route 201. Continue along US-201 until you reach Fort Halifax State Historic Site. The total distance is approximately 12 miles (19 km) and should take around 1 hour depending on your cycling speed. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, you can set out from South End Halifax by heading towards the waterfront. Walk along the scenic path leading to the Macdonald Bridge. Cross the bridge on foot, which will take about 30 minutes. Once you reach the other side, you can follow Route 201 on foot. Note that it is a long walk, approximately 12 miles (19 km) and will take around 3 to 4 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
