If you're in downtown Montreal, take the Green Line (Line 1) of the Metro to the Bonaventure station. Once you exit the train, follow the signs to the Place Ville-Marie. Continue walking through the corridors until you reach the level where the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal is located, which is at niveau galerie commerciale, local 11220.

You can take bus number 150 or 747 from various points in the city that lead to the downtown area. If you take bus 747, get off at the stop at René-Lévesque / Peel, then walk towards Peel Street.
