Travel Guide to Saint Patrick's Basilica

Getting There

• Metro

  If you're starting from the downtown area, the most convenient way to get to Saint Patrick's Basilica is by taking the Montreal Metro. Head to the nearest Metro station, such as Peel or McGill on the Green Line (Line 1). Board the train heading towards Angrignon. After 2 stops, get off at the Atwater station. From Atwater, take a short walk east along Rue Atwater until you reach Rue Sainte-Catherine. Turn left on Rue Sainte-Catherine and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Boulevard René-Lévesque. Turn right onto Boulevard René-Lévesque, and you will find Saint Patrick's Basilica at 460 René-Lévesque Blvd W.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take the bus, look for a bus stop nearby that services the 15 or 356 routes. Board the bus and ride until you reach the stop at the intersection of Boulevard René-Lévesque and Rue Mansfield. Get off the bus and walk west along Boulevard René-Lévesque. Saint Patrick's Basilica will be located at 460 René-Lévesque Blvd W, just a short walk away.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of downtown Montreal, you can easily walk to Saint Patrick's Basilica. Begin at Place des Arts, head east on Rue Sainte-Catherine until you reach Boulevard René-Lévesque. Turn left and walk north on Boulevard René-Lévesque for about 5 minutes. The Basilica will be on your right at 460 René-Lévesque Blvd W.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a BIXI bike from one of the many stations around the city. Head towards the nearest bike path that leads to downtown. Once you reach Boulevard René-Lévesque, cycle east until you reach 460 René-Lévesque Blvd W, where you will find Saint Patrick's Basilica. Make sure to use bike lanes for safety.
