The Grand Trunk Building, located at 360 McGill Street in Montreal, is a prominent architectural landmark with a rich history tied to Canada's railway expansion. Constructed between 1899 and 1902, it served as the headquarters for the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR), a major railway company that operated extensively throughout Quebec, Ontario, and the northeastern United States.The building's construction was commissioned by Charles Hays, the president of the GTR, who unfortunately perished on the Titanic. The building reflects the grandeur and ambition of the railway era, with its imposing facade and intricate stonework. The inscription "Grand Trunk" and the GT monogram are still visible, serving as a reminder of the building's original purpose. The clock at the top of the building further emphasizes its connection to transportation.In 1922, the Grand Trunk Railway was absorbed into the newly formed Canadian National Railway Company (CN).
