Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to the center of Chari-Baguirmi and locate the main road leading towards the east. Follow this road for approximately 30 kilometers, keeping an eye out for road signs that indicate the direction towards the Chari River. The river runs parallel to the main road, so you will be able to see it on your left as you approach. There is ample parking space available near the riverbanks.

• Public Transportation

  For those opting for public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or a 'bush taxi' from the main taxi stand in Chari-Baguirmi. Look for taxis heading towards the nearby towns along the river. Inform the driver that you wish to stop at the Chari River. The fare typically ranges from 500 to 1000 CFA Francs depending on your negotiating skills and the distance. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes, and the driver will drop you off at a point where you can easily access the river.

• Walking

  If you are already near the Chari River area, walking can be a pleasant way to reach the riverbank. From the central market in Chari-Baguirmi, take Avenue de la République heading east. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach a junction where you can see the river in the distance. Follow the path leading towards the river, and you will arrive at the riverbank within 15-20 minutes.
