Colchagua Valley : Montes & Clos Apalta - Private Transportation
Excellent service
The whole experience was impeccable, from the transfer, the super professional service of Sebastian (who transported us), and the punctuality. The vineyards speak for themselves and it depends on which ones you want to visit. The visit to Clos Apalta had quite a bit of explanation and was accompanied by a tour; plus, the guide (Jorge) was excellent. At Viu Manet, the explanation was very theoretical and based on photos, and there was no tour, just photos, even though it looked prettier than Clos Apalta. If I had known, I would have swapped Viu Manet for Montes.

Viu Manent and Montes Winery, Colchagua Valley from semi-private
Our guide/driver drove us...
Our guide/driver drove us through the heavy city traffic and another 2 hours to the Colchagua Valley. Montes Winery was our first stop. The tour was interesting and the wine tasting was enjoyable (the Montes Folly Syrah was excellent). We had a delicious lunch at the Montes restaurant (cost not included with tour). We next went to the Viu Manent winery. We enjoyed the tour, which included a horse drawn carriage ride. The wines we tasted here were lower end, less expensive wines. They were not to my preference, but others may prefer them.
