Bus
From La Serena, head to the La Serena Bus Terminal, which is located on Avenida Francisco de Aguirre. Look for buses heading to Vicuña, as this is the closest town to Cortina Puclaro. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the journey takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Vicuña, you can ask the bus driver or check with locals for directions to Cortina Puclaro, which is about 18 kilometers away.
Shared Taxi (Colectivo)
Upon arriving in Vicuña, you can take a shared taxi (colectivo) towards Cortina Puclaro. These taxis usually leave from the main square or near the bus terminal. They will fill up with other passengers before departing, and the ride to Cortina Puclaro will take about 20-30 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to your destination.
Walking (if feasible)
If you prefer to walk, from the bus terminal in Vicuña, you can head south on Calle Bulnes, then turn onto Ruta 41. Follow this road for about 18 kilometers toward Cortina Puclaro. Please note that this walk is quite long and may not be suitable for everyone, especially in warm weather, so ensure you are prepared with water and sun protection.
