If you're starting from La Serena, take Route 5 North toward Ovalle. After approximately 100 km, take Route 41 toward the east, heading to San Pedro de Atacama. Continue on Route 41 for about 200 km until you reach San Pedro de Atacama. From San Pedro, follow the signs to Cordillera de la Sal, which is located about 10 km southwest of the town. The drive offers stunning views of the Chilean desert landscape and may take around 4-5 hours in total.

From La Serena, you can take a bus to San Pedro de Atacama. Bus companies such as 'Pullman Bus' and 'Turbus' operate this route. The journey takes about 12 hours, so plan accordingly. Once you arrive in San Pedro de Atacama, you can take a local taxi or a guided tour to Cordillera de la Sal, which is about 10 km away. Expect to pay around 10,000 to 15,000 CLP for a taxi ride to the destination.
