Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from San Pedro de Atacama. Head southeast on Route 27. After about 10 kilometers, look for signs directing you to the Puritama hot springs. You'll drive through the scenic landscapes of the Atacama Desert, eventually reaching a fork in the road. Take the right fork towards 'Termas de Puritama'. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as the road can be rough in parts. Parking is available at the hot springs.
Public Transportation
To reach Puritama via public transportation, first, take a bus from San Pedro de Atacama to the Puritama hot springs. Buses to Termas de Puritama leave from the main bus terminal in San Pedro. The fare is approximately 5,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos) one way. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Buses typically run hourly, so check the schedule ahead of time to plan your visit. Once you arrive at the hot springs, you may need to pay an entrance fee of around 15,000 CLP to access the facilities.
