Car
If you're driving, start from Puerto Varas, which is the closest major town to Petrohué Waterfalls. From Puerto Varas, take Route 225 (Ruta 225) towards Ensenada. Follow Route 225 for approximately 30 kilometers (about 18 miles). After 30 km, you will see signs for 'Saltos de Petrohué' directing you to turn left onto a smaller road that leads directly to the waterfalls. There is a parking area available near the entrance, which may charge a small fee (usually around CLP 1000 to CLP 2000).
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Puerto Varas to Ensenada. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. After arriving in Ensenada, you will need to take a taxi or a local shuttle service to the Petrohué Waterfalls, as they are about 10 km (6 miles) from the bus stop. Be prepared for taxi fares that might range from CLP 5000 to CLP 8000. Make sure to check the bus schedules as they may vary, especially on weekends.

It’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes and carry water and snacks, as the trails can take about 1 to 2 hours depending on how far you wish to go and the specific trails you choose.
