The lookout has recently undergone a $2.9 million upgrade, including a complete replacement of the viewing platform and boardwalk, ensuring a safe and modern experience for visitors. Sustainable design elements, such as visitor seating made from recycled plastic, have also been incorporated. A booby bird sculpture has been added to celebrate the rare species that call the island home.
