Car
To drive to Greta Beach from Murray Hill, start by heading south on Murray Hill Road. Continue straight for about 10 km until you reach the junction with the main road. Take a left onto the main road (known locally as the Access Road) and follow it for approximately 5 km. Look for signs indicating the turn-off to Greta Beach, and follow the road until you reach the beach. There is no parking fee at Greta Beach, making it a convenient option for travelers.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transport, start at the Murray Hill bus stop. Take the bus heading towards the main town center, which operates regularly. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop closest to the Access Road junction. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 km to reach the turn-off to Greta Beach. Note that there may be a small fare for the bus ride, typically around $2. It’s advisable to check the local bus schedule in advance for the latest timings.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, cycling to Greta Beach is a great option. Rent a bike in Murray Hill and take the same route as the car instructions. The ride is roughly 15 km, and it should take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water, as there are limited stops along the way. There are no additional costs apart from the bike rental.
Walking
If you are up for a long walk, you can trek from Murray Hill to Greta Beach. The route follows the main road and is approximately 15 km. It will take roughly 3 to 4 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Walking may not be the most practical option due to the distance, but it offers a unique way to explore the island.
