Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Bogotá. Take the Autopista Norte (North Highway) towards La Calera. After approximately 45 minutes, you will reach the town of La Calera. From there, follow the signs towards El Cerrito. Continue on the Variante Frailejonal road for about 10 km. The Hummingbirds Observatory will be on your right. Make sure to check your fuel levels as there are limited gas stations in this area.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from Bogotá to La Calera. Buses leave from the Portal Norte bus terminal and the journey takes around 1 hour. Once in La Calera, you can take a taxi or a local bus towards El Cerrito. Inform the driver to drop you off at the Hummingbirds Observatory on Variante Frailejonal. The taxi ride from La Calera to the observatory should cost around 20,000 to 30,000 COP.

If you are already in La Calera and prefer to walk, the observatory is approximately 5 km from the main square. Head towards Variante Frailejonal and follow the road signs. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the walk can take around 1 hour.
