Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Cali, head to the Terminal de Transportes (Cali's bus terminal). Look for buses heading to El Cerrito. The ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you reach El Cerrito, ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Corregimiento Santa Elena. From there, you can either walk or take a motorcycle taxi to the Museum Sugarcane, which is about 8 kilometers away. Make sure to have the address written down in Spanish: 'Corregimiento Santa Elena, vereda Amaimito a 8 Kms de el crucero de El, Placer' to show to the motorcycle taxi driver.

• Motorcycle Taxi

  If you're already in El Cerrito, you can find motorcycle taxis (moto-taxis) near the main square. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Museum Sugarcane' or show them the address: 'Corregimiento Santa Elena, vereda Amaimito a 8 Kms de el crucero de El, Placer'. The ride will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Ensure you agree on the fare before you start your journey.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from El Cerrito, head north towards Calle 5 and continue until you reach the main road, Avenida 3. Follow Avenida 3 towards the northwest until you reach the intersection with Calle 12. Turn left onto Calle 12 and continue walking until you see signs for Santa Elena. It is a long walk of about 8 kilometers, so be prepared with water and sun protection.
