Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Pereira, the capital of Risaralda Department. Head out of Pereira on the Via Cerritos road. Continue driving for approximately 7 kilometers. You will see signs for 'porteria Malabar Kaukita' on your right side. Turn into the entrance to Kaukitá Reserve. There is parking available at the reserve. Ensure you have cash for any entrance fees, which could range from COP 5,000 to COP 10,000 per person.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Kaukitá Reserve via public transportation, first take a bus from Pereira to Cerritos. The buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal in Pereira. Once you arrive in Cerritos, you can either take a taxi or walk to the reserve entrance, which is about 1.5 kilometers from the bus stop. If you choose to walk, simply head along the main road towards the direction of 'porteria Malabar Kaukita'. The total cost for the bus is around COP 2,000 to COP 3,000. Be sure to check the return bus schedule to ensure you have transportation back to Pereira.

• Taxi

  For a more direct approach, consider taking a taxi from Pereira to Kaukitá Reserve. You can find taxis at various locations throughout the city, or book one through a ride-hailing app. The trip should take about 15-20 minutes and cost around COP 20,000 to COP 30,000, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Taxis offer a comfortable and convenient way to reach the reserve.
