Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Breckenridge, head southeast on Main Street towards Ski Hill Road. Turn left onto Ski Hill Road and continue until you reach County Road 3. Turn right onto County Road 3, and the preserve will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and takes about 30-40 minutes. Note that there is no street parking throughout most of Breckenridge.

  • Public Transport

    Take the Breckenridge Free Ride bus. Board the bus at any local stop and look for the route heading towards the 'Blue Route'. Get off at the 'Cucumber Gulch' stop, which is closest to the wildlife preserve. From there, it's a short 5-10 minute walk on County Road 3 to reach the entrance at 1599 County Rd 3. The bus service is free.

  • Driving

    From the center of Breckenridge, head southeast on South Main Street toward Ski Hill Road. Continue on South Main Street for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Ski Hill Road and continue for approximately 1 mile. Merge onto Colorado Route 9. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto County Road 3. Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve will be on your left at 1599 County Rd 3. Parking may be limited during peak times. Parking at the Nordic Center is free in the summer.
