Discover the Serenity of Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in downtown Breckenridge, start at Main Street. Head south on Main Street towards South Park Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Ski Hill Road. Turn left onto Ski Hill Road and walk uphill. After about 0.3 miles, you will see a sign for Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve on your right. Follow the trail leading into the preserve for a scenic walk through the area.

• Biking

  Rent a bike at one of the local rental shops in Breckenridge. From the shop, head south on Main Street, then take a right onto Ski Hill Road. Continue biking uphill for approximately 0.3 miles until you reach the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve sign on your right. There is a bike rack near the entrance where you can securely park your bike before entering the preserve.

• Public Transport

  Check the local bus schedule for the Breckenridge Free Ride service. Board the bus at any of the stops in downtown Breckenridge. Take the bus towards the 'Peak 8' route. Get off at the 'Peak 8 Base' stop. From there, follow the signs towards the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve, which is about a 10-minute walk. The entrance will be on your left.

• Hiking

  If you are staying near the Blue River, start your hike at the Riverwalk Center. Follow the river path until you reach the intersection with Ski Hill Road. Turn right onto Ski Hill Road and continue uphill for about 0.3 miles. Look for the entrance to Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve on your right. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you hike into the preserve.
