Car
From the Mesa Verde National Park entrance, drive along the Main Park Road (also known as Colorado Highway 10) for approximately 21 miles. Follow the signs to the Petroglyph Point Trailhead, which is located near the Soda Canyon Overlook. The trailhead is accessible from the road and has a parking area. Note that there may be a park entrance fee, which is currently $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass.

Currently, there are no direct public transportation services to Mesa Verde National Park. However, if you are staying in nearby towns such as Cortez or Durango, you can use local shuttle services or taxis to reach the park entrance. Once inside the park, you will need to use a personal vehicle, a rental car, or join a guided tour to reach the Petroglyph Point Trailhead, as public transit does not operate within the park.

If you are already near the trailhead or at the Morefield Campground, you can hike to the Petroglyph Point Trail. From the Morefield Campground, follow the signs for the trailhead located approximately 2 miles northwest. The trail is about 2.4 miles round trip and provides stunning views along the way. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring plenty of water.
