From Monument, head to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of 2nd Street and Beacon Lite Road. Board the 'Mountain Metro Transit' bus route 39 towards the 'Pueblo Transit Center.' Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and get off at the 'Colorado Springs Transit Center' stop. Once you arrive, transfer to the 'Mountain Metro Transit' route 1 towards 'Old Colorado City.' This will take you directly to Old Colorado City. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour, depending on waiting times.

If you prefer biking, start at the Monument Town Hall and head south on Beacon Lite Road. Continue onto the Santa Fe Trail, which is a scenic route towards Colorado Springs. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Old Colorado City Trail. Turn right, and you'll find yourself in Old Colorado City. The ride takes about 1 hour, depending on your pace.

Walking from Monument to Old Colorado City is quite a trek, so be prepared for a long journey. Start from Monument and walk south on Beacon Lite Road. Eventually, connect to the Santa Fe Trail. Follow the trail south towards Colorado Springs. Once you reach the intersection with Old Colorado City Trail, turn right. This entire walking journey can take approximately 4 to 5 hours, so bring water and snacks for the trip.
