Discover more about Siamese Twins

The Siamese Twins Trail in Garden of the Gods Park leads to a pair of red sandstone hoodoos that create a natural window perfectly framing Pikes Peak. This easy 0.5-mile loop is located in the southwest corner of the park, near Balanced Rock and the Garden of the Gods Trading Post, offering a more secluded experience compared to the central areas. The trail gradually climbs over 100 feet, rewarding hikers with panoramic views and a close-up look at the unique rock formations. The "window" between the Siamese Twins provides a picturesque spot to capture Pikes Peak in the background. The trail is well-marked but not suitable for strollers due to some uneven terrain and stairs. Geologically, the Siamese Twins, like the rest of Garden of the Gods, began forming a billion years ago. Molten rock cooled to create Pikes Peak granite, and later, shallow seas deposited layers of sand, gravel, and mud. Ancient sand dunes primarily formed the red sandstone seen today. Differential erosion and glaciation sculpted the unique landforms over millions of years.
