Car
If you're traveling by car, start on US-6 E and head towards CO-91 S. Continue on CO-91 S until you reach the intersection with US-24 E. Merge onto US-24 E and follow it until you arrive at the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park. The entrance is approximately 30 miles from the town of Telluride. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Balcony House. Note that there is an entrance fee of $25 per vehicle, which covers up to 8 people in the vehicle and is valid for 7 days.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, first take a bus or shuttle service from nearby towns such as Durango or Cortez to reach the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park. Check the local schedules for specific routes and times, as these services may not run frequently. Once at the park entrance, you will need to arrange for a shuttle or additional transportation to get to Balcony House, as it is located a few miles inside the park. Please keep in mind that the park may charge an entrance fee of $25 per vehicle, which is applicable even if you are using a shuttle service.

For those who enjoy hiking, there are trails that lead to Balcony House, but you must first reach the park entrance by car or public transport. Once inside, look for the Balcony House trailhead. The views along the trail are stunning, making it a worthwhile adventure.
