Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ouani, head southeast towards the coastal road. Walk along Avenue de l'Indépendance, enjoying the local shops and cafes. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork, take the right path which leads uphill towards Mutsamudu. After walking for approximately 1 kilometer, you will start to see signs for The Citadel. Follow the signs as you approach the outskirts of Mutsamudu.

Once you have arrived at the entrance of Mutsamudu, continue walking towards the city center. You will pass by the local market area. Keep walking straight until you reach the main square, Place de la République. The Citadel is located just beyond this square. Look for the large stone structure on a hill; it is well-marked and should be visible as you approach.

To reach the Citadel itself, navigate to the base of the hill where the Citadel is situated. There will be a pathway leading upwards, marked by stone steps. Ascend the steps carefully; the view of Mutsamudu from the top is breathtaking. Once you reach the top, you will see the Citadel's entrance. Enjoy your visit!
