If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto Route 8 North from your location in Central Connecticut. Follow signs for Waterbury and continue on Route 8 for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 38 for Route 67 towards Southbury. Merge onto Route 67 and continue until you reach the intersection with Route 6. Turn right onto Route 6 and follow it for about 7 miles. Look for signs for Mount Tom State Park; you will turn left onto Mount Tom Road. The park entrance will be on your left. Note that there are no entrance fees for Mount Tom State Park.

For those using public transportation, take the Metro-North Railroad from New Haven or Bridgeport to the Southbury Station. Upon arrival, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service as there are no direct public transit options to Mount Tom State Park from the station. The park is approximately 5 miles from the station. Be sure to check the Metro-North schedule ahead of your trip, and consider the cost of the train ticket, which varies based on your starting location.
