    From the Spring Street parking lot, cross the old waterfall dam to enter the preserve. Follow the white-blazed Carriage Path uphill. This well-maintained gravel trail leads to Lookout Mountain, offering views. The walk to the summit takes approximately 20 minutes.

  • Driving

    Approaching Case Mountain, navigate to 640 Spring St, Manchester, CT, 06040. Parking is available in four main lots: Case Pond Lot (68 Birch Mountain Rd), Spring St. Lot (670 Spring St), Shenipsit Trail Lot (near 148 Birch Mountain Rd), and Line St. Lot (Line St). Parking is free. Note that parking area hours are from 6am to 8pm.

The most popular trail, the white-blazed Carriage Path, leads to the summit of Lookout Mountain, offering panoramic views of Manchester, Hartford, and beyond.Visitors can explore various trails catering to different skill levels. The Shenipsit Trail, marked with blue blazes, traverses through the heart of the network, while the Birch Mountain Trail leads to the true summit of Case Mountain. The area's diverse flora and fauna, including various bird species and wildflowers, add to its appeal.In addition to its natural beauty, Case Mountain holds historical significance. The Case Brothers Historic District recognizes the family's contributions to the area. The Maude Dennison Cabin, built in 1917 as a summer retreat, stands as a unique example of American chestnut construction.
