Public Transit
To reach William Barnacle Tavern located at 80 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003 from Greenwich, CT, first walk to the Greenwich Train Station. From there, take the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line towards Grand Central Terminal. The train ride will take approximately 50-60 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, exit the station and head towards the 42nd Street Shuttle (S) located at the lower level of Grand Central. Take the Shuttle towards Times Square. At Times Square, transfer to the 1, 2, or 3 subway line and take it downtown towards 14th Street. Get off at the 14th Street station. From there, walk east on 14th Street for about 5 blocks until you reach 1st Avenue. Turn left onto 1st Avenue and walk until you reach St Marks Place. Turn right onto St Marks Place and the tavern will be on your left.

If you are already in the downtown area of Manhattan, you can take a direct walking route to William Barnacle Tavern. Start at Astor Place subway station (6 train). Walk east on Astor Place, and take a left onto St Marks Place. Walk for about 5 minutes, and you will find the tavern at 80 St Marks Pl on your right.

If you prefer to use the bus, from the Greenwich area, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the 10 or 11 bus towards New York. The bus will take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From the bus terminal, walk to the 42nd Street subway station and take the 1, 2, or 3 subway line downtown. Get off at the 14th Street station and follow the same walking directions as provided earlier to reach the tavern.
