Merge onto Route 44 East and then take the exit for I-91 South. Continue on I-91 South for about 10 miles until you reach Exit 30 for Route 218. Take Route 218 West until it merges into Simsbury Rd. Continue on Simsbury Rd for about 3 miles, and you will see the entrance to Penwood State Park on your left. There is no entry fee for the park.

    To reach Penwood State Park using public transportation, you can take a Metro-North train to Hartford. From Hartford, you can catch the CT Transit bus route 40 towards Bloomfield. Get off at the stop closest to Simsbury Rd, which is a short walk from the park entrance. Check the CT Transit schedule for exact timing and fares; a one-way fare is typically around $1.75. Once you get off the bus, head west on Simsbury Rd for about 1 mile until you reach the park entrance.
