Getting There

• Car

  From New Haven Harbor, start by heading northwest on S Water St toward Long Wharf Dr. Continue on Long Wharf Dr for about 0.5 miles. Then, take a left onto S Orange St and continue for another 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Elm St, and you will see New Haven Green at 250 Temple St on your left after about 0.3 miles. There are several public parking garages nearby, including the Crown Street Garage and Temple Street Garage, where parking fees typically range from $1.50 to $3.00 per hour.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  If you prefer public transportation, start by walking to the nearest bus stop at Long Wharf Dr and S Water St. Take the CT Transit bus #234 towards the New Haven Green. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the Church St & Elm St stop, which is just a short walk from New Haven Green at 250 Temple St. A one-way bus fare is $1.75, and you can pay using exact change or a CT Transit card.

• Public Transportation - Train

  Alternatively, you can take the Metro-North train from New Haven Union Station, which is a short distance from the harbor. Board a train heading toward Grand Central Terminal. Get off at New Haven Union Station (the stop is about 1 mile away from New Haven Green). From the station, you can either walk to New Haven Green, which takes about 20 minutes, or catch a local bus or taxi. The train fare varies based on your departure point, but from New Haven to Grand Central, it typically costs around $15.

• Walking

  If you're looking for a scenic route, you can also walk from New Haven Harbor to New Haven Green. Simply head northwest on S Water St, then take a left on Long Wharf Drive and follow it until it merges into S Orange St. Continue until you reach Elm St, and then turn right. New Haven Green will be on your left after about a 20-30 minute walk, depending on your pace.
