Public Bus
From downtown New Haven, head to the New Haven Green. Look for the CT Transit bus stop on Church Street. Take the CT Transit Route 228 bus towards Hamden. The bus will take you through the area, and you should get off at the stop for Mt. Carmel Avenue. Once you disembark, walk up Mt. Carmel Avenue until you reach Sleeping Giant State Park, which is located at 200 Mt Carmel Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown New Haven. Head north on State Street, which turns into Whitney Avenue. Continue on Whitney Avenue until you reach Mt. Carmel Avenue. Take a right on Mt. Carmel Avenue and follow it until you arrive at Sleeping Giant State Park at 200 Mt Carmel Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
Walking
For those wanting a scenic walk, start at the New Haven Green. Walk north along Church Street until it becomes State Street. Continue walking until you reach Whitney Avenue. Turn left onto Whitney Avenue and follow it north. Eventually, turn right onto Mt. Carmel Avenue. Keep walking straight, and you will find Sleeping Giant State Park at 200 Mt Carmel Ave, Hamden, CT 06518. It is a bit of a trek, so be prepared with good walking shoes.
