Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Falls Rd in Bethlehem. If you are starting from a central location in The Quiet Corner, such as Putnam, take I-395 S and merge onto CT-8 S. Continue on CT-8 S for about 20 miles, then take exit 38 for US-6 W toward Waterbury. Merge onto US-6 W and continue for approximately 12 miles until you reach Bethlehem. Turn left onto Falls Rd. Follow Falls Rd for about 1 mile, and you will find Nonnewaug Falls on your right. There is no entrance fee to access the falls.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take the CT Transit bus from your starting location in The Quiet Corner to Waterbury. Once in Waterbury, transfer to a local bus heading towards Bethlehem. You may need to check the current bus schedules for exact times and routes, as they can vary. Upon arriving in Bethlehem, you can walk or take a taxi to Falls Rd, which is about a 15-minute walk (0.7 miles) from the bus stop. Please note that public transportation options might be limited, so plan your visit accordingly.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, biking to Nonnewaug Falls can be a scenic option. If you're starting from a nearby town in The Quiet Corner, plan your route along the quieter back roads to Bethlehem. A recommended route is to take CT-63, which offers a mix of quiet rural roads and beautiful scenery. Bike parking is available near the falls, and the ride could be around 10-15 miles depending on your starting point. Remember to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.

• Walking

  If you are already in Bethlehem and prefer walking, you can reach Nonnewaug Falls by following Falls Rd. Starting from the town center, head north on Main St, then turn onto Falls Rd. It is approximately a 2-mile walk and will take around 40-50 minutes. Enjoy the quiet landscape and take your time to appreciate the natural beauty along the way.
