Bus
If you are in the town of Liberia, head towards the Liberia Bus Terminal. Look for buses heading to Playas del Coco as they frequently stop near Playa Penca. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride that will take approximately 30-45 minutes. After reaching Playas del Coco, disembark and ask locals for directions to Playa Penca, which is about a 15-minute walk along the coast. Follow the beach until you reach Playa Penca.
Taxi
From any location in Guanacaste, you can easily find a taxi. Simply ask for a taxi to Playa Penca. It's best to agree on a fare before starting your journey. The ride from nearby towns like Tamarindo or Playas del Coco should take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. The taxi driver will take you directly to the beach entrance, which is well marked.
Shuttle Service
Many hotels and resorts in Guanacaste offer shuttle services to local beaches. Check with your accommodation if they provide a shuttle to Playa Penca. If available, you can book a spot at the front desk, and they will arrange pick-up and drop-off times for you. The shuttle will take you directly to the beach, making it a convenient option.

If you are staying in the vicinity of Playa Penca, you can walk to the beach. Locate the nearest main road and head towards the coastline. Follow the signs pointing towards Playa Penca. The walk is about 20-30 minutes from nearby accommodations and is a great way to experience the local scenery.
