Note that during the rainy season, a 4x4 vehicle may be necessary due to muddy conditions.

    From Puntarenas, take a bus towards Uvita or Mata de Limón. From either of these locations, take a taxi to Playa Guacalillo, and then walk to Lago Bajamar. The bus fare from Puntarenas to Uvita or Mata de Limón is approximately ₡1,500-2,000. A taxi from Uvita or Mata de Limón to Guacalillo will cost around ₡15,000-20,000.
