    From La Fortuna, take the Transpisa bus towards El Castillo. The bus departs from the Terminal de Buses La Fortuna once daily and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes, costing between $1 and $3. From the El Castillo bus stop, it is a short walk to the Conservatory.

    Taxis are readily available in La Fortuna. A taxi ride from La Fortuna to the Butterfly Conservatory will take approximately 30 minutes and cost between $40 and $55.

  • Driving

    From La Fortuna, follow Route 142 West towards El Castillo. Once in El Castillo, turn left on the Cement road at the School El Castillo and travel 800 meters up the hill. The Butterfly Conservatory will be on your left. Parking is available at the conservatory.
